Dragon Boating is the ultimate team sport. Every paddler in the boat plays a critical role. Teams consist of 20 paddlers, a steer person, and a drummer. Teams range from early teens to paddlers well into their seventies and eighties.
Why I participate on a Dragon Boat Team
" I participate for a chance to live a few moments at the peak of my potential on and off the water. I enjoy being involved with a group of dedicated dragon boat paddlers, to race against other crews around and do our best to compete against them. Everyone likes to win gold medals but we also do this to strengthen ourselves, push our own limits, and support each other. This sport attracts people from all ages and abilities, who naturally are hardworking, positive, reliable, supportive , patient, and generous. I dragon boat for the opportunity to be involved with such a great group of people who are not only my team mates but also my friends. Dragon Boating with amazing people and competing is the greatest feeling. That's why I Dragon Boat. Thank you to all my friends that makes this possibility a reality for me. If you have never been on a dragon boat why not Try it: Get some exercise, have some fun, and Experience the WILD LIFE!
